Keyboard data

VersaKey’s core keyboard does not require Full Access. Automatically learning frequently used words and email addresses, and Analyze Typing, require Full Access. Custom and automatically learned words remain only on your device.

Up to 24 frequently used email addresses and bounded typing-analysis aggregates sync through your private iCloud database only when Sync personalization is enabled. Email addresses are not used for training or analytics.

Typing analysis does not save sentences, surrounding context, raw touch coordinates, or touch paths. Complete typed text and document context are never synchronized.

Settings

Your key mappings, behavior settings, theme, and saved response shortcuts and messages are stored only on your device and are not collected by VersaKey.

Typing practice and calibration

Passages and Word drill compare what you enter with built-in original practice text, public-domain excerpts, and attributed permissively licensed excerpts on your device. They save aggregate best WPM and accuracy plus a bounded history of up to 30 aggregate practice sessions. Touch calibration and practice progress are kept separate for portrait, landscape, split landscape, and their Number Row versions.

Word drill also saves aggregate clean, corrected, and unresolved attempt counts for its known target words so mastered words can leave the active queue.

When Analyze Typing and Full Access are enabled, practice temporarily provides only the next expected letter so one touch can improve per-key calibration, and saves bounded misspelling-to-intended-word counts. Complete passages and what you enter are not saved or transmitted.

Your choices

You can turn off Analyze Typing, Learn Words Automatically, Sync personalization, or Full Access at any time. You can also remove learned words in the VersaKey app.
